Tigers claw Stevens, 42-12

NEWPORT — Noah Wade proved his big-time play-making skills once again and the Newport defense came up with some key turnovers as the Tigers toppled Stevens 42-12 Saturday to keep hold of the Chamber Challenge Cup.

With his team already sitting on a 21-0 third-quarter cushion, Newport’s Tyler Sharron picked off a pass at the Cardinals’ 17 and took it in for a defensive touchdown. And his point-after kick made it 28-0 with 4:03 remaining in the period.
